Inspiration, rejuvenation, peacefulness, motivation, purpose and meaning, these are some of the essential ingredients to living a life that feels joyful, fulfilling and gives us a sense that our life is on track.

Modern day-to-day existence can immerse us in the everyday drudge and very often seems to point out to us all the negative things of life. This can lead to a feeling of unhappiness, frustration or disempowerment, making it challenging to maintain a positive and hopeful outlook.

The Bahá'í Writings teach that the Word of God provides inspiration, rejuvenates souls, gladdens hearts, and renews our sense of purpose. Prayer and scripture offer us an opportunity to commune with our Creator, draw on the revitalizing power of the Word of God, and help us to contemplate and more deeply appreciate our lives, where we’re headed and how we can attain our goals.

To help people to discover or regain this much needed connection with God, Bahá’ís all over the world hold Prayer Gatherings. An informal meditative and tranquil space designed to immerse the participants in spiritual teachings and inspirational writings. This is achieved through the use of beautiful music, the creation of a relaxing environment, through prayer and reading of the Bahá'í writings and other Holy scriptures and also poetry and writings from other great spiritual thinkers. Together these elements create an environment of unity and harmony that help participants to take in the gems of spiritual wisdom found in the readings and prayers.

For many, these gatherings become a refreshing refuge from the discordant and wearing aspects of everyday life. Participants are able to meditate on spiritual principles and gain some perspective on how these principles can be applied to their day-to-day affairs.
