Tranquil Prayer and Meditation Gatherings –– monthly in Northampton and Brixworth
Enjoy a relaxing and inspirational time listening to prayers and writings from the Bahá’í Faith and other multi-faith, multicultural sources. There is no set ‘prescription’ for how to pray and meditate in the Bahá’í Faith so every session will be a little different. Often set to music with candle-light and natural scents, taking part in a Bahá’í prayer and meditation gathering aims to reconnect you to the Divine Source, recharge your spiritual batteries and realign your daily focus to a more peaceful and contented state of mind.
Spiritual Storytelling –– monthly in Hardingstone
Storytelling is an ancient and often mystical art shared in every culture and every land. Used primarily as a means of education and entertainment we are still hooked on it today. TV, books, magazines – storytelling is everywhere.
The Baha’i spiritual storytelling group takes it’s inspiration from the lives of the Holy figures of the Bahá’í Faith, the early believers and prominent people, as well as telling stories from other cultures from around the world.
Firesides - ‘Spiritual Conversations’ –– monthly in Northampton
If you’re tired of having uninspiring conversations about celebrities and the weather then come along to a fireside and converse about something bigger. Firesides are a friendly and informal gathering of souls who want to pray together and talk about things that impact on our lives. Often held on themes such as ‘the arts’, ‘science and religion’, ‘world peace’, ‘equality’ or ‘parenting’ – there’s always something to get your teeth into and something new to learn. Attendants often leave with a more positive outlook on challenging subjects, and of course there’s cake!
Childrens Classes –– weekly in Northampton
The Bahá’í Faith is very positive in it’s attitude towards kids and especially their education. A good education needs to include the academic, the creative and also the spiritual. Bahá’ís aim to promote a spiritual education that’s gentle, fun and full of sparkly things.
We are proud to be able to offer parents of children 5-9 years old and aim in the future to offer classes for 10-14 year olds. Please join our Facebook group to receive more information and updates about when there are classes running.
Holy Day Celebrations
Every religion has it’s special ‘Holy’ days and the Bahá’í Faith is no exception. There are many times during the year when Northampton is joined by the wider Bahá’í community to celebrate a Holy day – Naw-Rúz (new year), Ridvan and the Birthdays of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh are our main celebrations.
There is no set format for these celebrations, so the programs are quite varied. They often include prayers, music, dancing, socializing and lots of delicious food. Holy day events are often RSVP so please get in touch for more information.
Socials and Coffee Mornings
Fancy a cuppa? Members of our community meet regularly in Northampton town centre for coffee. We also organise games nights, inspirational film nights, eating-out, and many other social activities.
